Presidency Conference: Child Guarantee – Equal Chances for Every Child
We have the pleasure of inviting you to the virtual Presidency Conference on CHILD GUARANTEE – EQUAL CHANCES FOR EVERY CHILD
In 2019 over one-fifth of the population of the European Union was living in conditions of poverty and social exclusion, which includes almost 18 million children. In response to this, on 24 March 2021 the European Commission published a Proposal for a Council Recommendation establishing a European Child Guarantee and called on the member states to draw up measures to guarantee social inclusion for children at risk and ensure they can realise their potential. The main theme of the conference will be a discussion on putting the recommendation into practice and how member states can prepare and follow-up measures to provide children across the EU with equal opportunities.
The program is as follows:
- 9:00 – 9:30 Opening Session, moderated by Bilal in Arja Ela (teenagers from Slovenia)
- 9:30 – 10:20 Working Session I – Effective implementation of the ECG Recommendation
- 10:20 – 10:35 Coffee break

10:35 – 11:30 Working Session II – Exchange of best practices on social inclusion ofchildren in need
- 11:30 – 12.10 Discussion and Wrap-up Session
- 12:10 – 12.30 Closing Session
