EPA and ADHD Europe: Championing mental health and inclusive education
We advocate for an education system that leaves no child – and no parent – behind. We believe that a whole-community approach is needed to ground the development of children and youth in a sense of mutual support and shared understanding.
Building on two years of enthusiastic and close collaboration, EPA has officially formalised its relationship with ADHD Europe through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
A milestone for families in Europe
This spring, on 14 April 2026, we reached a significant milestone by signing our formal MoU. This ceremony was the culmination of two years of intense joint work, particularly in the field of mental health. By moving from informal cooperation to a structured partnership, we are reinforcing our shared commitment to supporting families across Europe.
Our shared vision
Traditional education and social models often overlook the vital link between generations and the diverse needs within a family unit. Crucially, neurodevelopmental challenges are often a family-wide reality. Parents and learners both play a central role in shaping meaningful education, but parents with ADHD face unique challenges in navigating school systems, supporting their children’s learning, and participating in school governance.
By engaging in open dialogue and collaborating on educational and social initiatives, EPA and ADHD Europe aim to:
- Ensure responsive systems: Making sure that education and family support structures remain responsive to the needs of all generations, including the specific aspirations and well-being of students with neurodevelopmental challenges and their families.
- Empower parents: Acknowledging that supported parents are better equipped to advocate for their children.
- Promote equity: Our cooperation is inspired by shared values of equity, democratic participation, and the right to high-quality education for every learner.
- Mental health advocacy: Continuing our deep dive into the mental health of families, reducing stigma, and promoting lifelong support structures.
Moving forward together
Our work over the past two years has shown that when parents’ rights and expertise in ADHD meet, the impact is profound. Under this new agreement, EPA and ADHD Europe will further integrate our efforts. We are proud to stand alongside ADHD Europe as we work toward a future where every family feels supported, understood, and empowered.
