Petra Kogelnig

Petra Kogelnig is the Secretary General of the European Parents’ Association.

Petra’s professional life was once about finding the right words through translation and interpreting. But it was the arrival of her son that changed her world forever and truly ignited her mission. Experiencing firsthand the gap between societal expectations for parents and the genuine needs of families, she was driven to action.

This journey led her to train as a parental coach, specializing in supporting families with highly sensitive children and their parents. It was a quest to help families find their own language of being, beyond stereotypes and clichés.

Her passion now extends to her role at EPA, which she considers a true international family built on and driven by shared values. She is also actively involved in her son’s school in Belgium, itself a member of EPA. In her private time, she dedicates herself to The Heart Whisperers, a personal project offering animal-assisted therapy and coaching to help families strengthen their bonds with each other and with nature.
