How to Become a Member

Joining the European Parents' Association (EPA) connects an organization with a network dedicated to strengthening parental involvement in education across Europe. Its members play a vital role in its mission, and EPA welcomes new organizations that share its goals.

Application and Approval Process

To begin, an organization's official representative should send a formal, signed letter to EPA. This letter, which can be sent via email, should introduce the organization and formally request to become a member. The category of membership needs to be stated.

Once the application is received, the Board of Directors will evaluate it and recommend the organization's membership to the General Assembly.

The General Assembly, which meets twice a year in different countries, is composed of all EPA members. The full members will vote on the proposal during the next General Assembly, and formally accept or reject the application.

To be considered at the next General Assemblyn, the application must be submitted at least one month in advance.

Membership Categories and Fees

EPA is a non-profit association. Its activities are primarily financed through membership fees.

EPA offers three categories of membership, with annual fees based on an organization's operating budget.

Full Members This category is for organizations composed of parents or parent associations. Full members have voting rights at General Assemblies, can nominate candidates for governing bodies, and can send delegates to all EPA events and activities.

  • Annual Income: €0 - €10,000
    • Fee: €500
    • Delegates: 1 representative can attend events at a reduced fee.
  • Annual Income: €10,001 - €30,000
    • Fee: €900
    • Delegates: 2 representatives can attend events at a reduced fee.
  • Annual Income: €30,001+
    • Fee: €1,400
    • Delegates: 3 representatives can attend events at a reduced fee.

Associate Members This category is for organizations connected to the field of education but that do not exclusively or fully represent parents. Associate members do not have voting rights but can send delegates to EPA events and participate in all activities.

  • Annual Income: €0 - €30,000
    • Fee: €650
    • Delegates: 1 representative can attend events at a reduced fee.
  • Annual Income: €30,001+
    • Fee: €1,100
    • Delegates: 2 representatives can attend events at a reduced fee.

Affiliate Members This category is for new or emerging organizations that want to "test" membership with EPA. Affiliate members do not have voting rights but can send one delegate to EPA events and participate in all activities.

  • Annual Fee (regardless of income):
    • Years 1-2: €200 per year
    • Year 3 (upon request): €300
